4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ Įph. 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,Įph. ![]() ![]() The presence of teachers in the Church doesn’t replace a believer’s responsibility to study personally, but they will aid in our personal study, so we should seek them out wisely, as Paul says: Eph. In the meantime, the Lord equips some within the church to teach others concerning the meaning of His word. 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Its meaning is not subject to our personal views or desires. ![]() Peter reminds us that scripture always has one proper interpretation. 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,ĢPet.
